Ghedalia Tazartes was born in Paris in 1947.
He started singing after his grandmother's death, at 12, all alone, in the Bois de Vincennes.
After finishing school, he travelled to Istanbul, where his father was born, then to Athens, London...
Back in Paris, he became a worker in a factory, working for General Motors, in Genevilliers.
In 1974, he bought a mike, a tape recorder and a band echo. This is when he began to develop what he called Impromuz , his own musical language.
