Powered by Audioscrobbler™Gamardah Fungus is a cryptic and even mysterious duo, formed in 2009 in Ukraine, as a result of joint experiments of sound designer Igor Yalivec & guitarist Sergey Yagoda. At that time both of them were interested in investigating new borders of already known approaches to composing music. Their aim was to create something like a mystical rite – a fragile, but deep product, which would address the very soul of listeners.

The music of the band can be described as exploration of drone ambient & electro-acoustic sounds bordered with dark jazz adjoining of a beautiful field recordings. But Gamardah Fungus often go far beyond styles and genres, playing with the subconscious of the recipient. Since the very beginning, the music approach of the band is based on the philosophy of Zen Buddhism & metaphysics, own meditative practices, spiritual contemplation of the Universe, trying to understand the fundamental nature of the sound and a re-combine of yin & yang – instrumentation and electronics.

Gamardah Fungus has several releases in the Ukraine & England, two videos and an impressive list of creative collaborations with different musicians, writers and artists with the widest geography – from Tibet to the United States, from Mexico to Poland, from Karelia to the Carpathians.
