Powered by Audioscrobbler™Introducing DUBXANNE: a covert collective out of Hamburg devoted to bringing out the original dub roots from one of the biggest bands circa '70s-'80s Britain; THE POLICE. Precise data concerning the musicians behind DubXanne remains difficult to discover, in fact their identities are top secret, however, the music they make and their dub reinterpretations of The Police classics are overtly and undeniably amazing.

The Police are arguably a pivotal collective, a bleached-blond juggernaut surfing a new wave resonance, they gained fame and notoriety via their innovative fusion of reggae rhythms, rock, punk and jazz; creating a signature sound that catapulted the trio into international superstardom.

The idea for this release emerged several years ago when ECHO BEACH's NICOLAI BEVERUNGEN met The Police's STEWARD COPELAND in Los Angeles and several years on and close to 2 years of negotiations with The Police's management and publishing group: ‘Police In Dub' is finally released...

DubXanne deliver a rhythmic dub masterpiece; backed by Germany's Okada Allstars DubXanne create interesting and sonically rich dub blend of The Police classics. Amazingly they did not use any samples from the original recordings, everything was replayed and DubXanne have managed to maintain an outstanding level of authenticity.

There's also an array of great collaborations featured on this album; BIG YOUTH is featured on "So Dub/So Lonely"; an interesting collaboration with poet BENJAMIN ZEPHANIAH ( "Sprits In A Material World (Spirits In A Dubworld)"); EARL 16 (of LEFTFIELD and DREADZONE fame) is the intriguing Sting-clone voice on "Message In A Dub" and RANKING ROGER from THE BEAT does the vocals on "The Bed's Too Big Without Dub". Other guests include STING's live band percussionist, RHANI, who plays percussion on "Message In A Dub"; JAZZ'MIN, a Japanese-born Jamaican poetess on "Wrapped Around Your Finger"; and EASED the malleable replicant voice behind SEEED on "Roxanne".

With ‘The Police In Dub' DubXanne create a collection of deep, rhythmic bass-end heavy gems of pop classics.
