Powered by Audioscrobbler™There are three artists performing under the name Developer.

(1) Developer is one of a few active DJ/Producers that emerged from the Los Angeles techno scene in the early 1990's. After ending his residency as a DJ on radio station 88.7FM kspc in 1995, Developer "Adrian Sandoval" Became the Import & Export Manager of the first dedicated techno distribution company on the west coast " Entity Music Distribution " which distributed top labels such as Axis Records, Reload Belgium, Plus 8, as well as a wealth techno label's from Detroit, Chicago and around the world.

Over the last 3 decades Developer has played alongside many of the elite techno talents from around the globe as well as taking part in laying a foundation in the LA techno culture by producing events and exposing various first time international talents throughout the mid 1990's to late 2000's. Developer gained much of his acclaim and extensive performance history from his strong marathon sets and quick programming skills as well as the ability of playing 50 tracks per hour on 3 turntables with effect processor and sampler.

(2) Developer is the music of Pittsburgh artist, Corey Layman. Layman most recently completed Project 52, http://developermusic.com/blog, where he wrote, performed and recorded a new song every week for a year. Project 52 was a blog where the songwriting and recording process was discussed (most of the tracks were recorded with an iPhone) along with the general challenges of writing, recording, and performing a song every week. The project was capped off by a live recording of the 16 minute final song performed by the new Developer band lineup and with the help of members of Endless Mike and the Beagle Club at the Brillobox in Pittsburgh.

The current Developer lineup is Corey Layman, Chris James, Joel Grimes, and Geof Comings.

Developer’s catalog is a collection of recordings from over the last 15 years. The music covers a number of genres, mostly aligned with indie rock of the last couple of decades, and ranges from lo-fi recordings on a tape deck with a guitar and whatever was laying around the house to higher-fi recordings with a full band.

In 2005 and 2006, Developer existed as a three-piece band that played local shows in Pittsburgh. The line-up with Karl Hendricks on bass and Jake Leger on drums (Karl Hendricks Trio,) recorded the LP, Meet the Widget. A few of the tracks from Meet the Widget were released on the Season Tics EP in 2006 on Hope Records, which was a collection of older and newer Developer songs. Developer played a few more shows locally with bassist Mac Howison before retiring the band lineup.

Layman’s other music endeavors include playing bass in the Karl Hendricks Trio, and as a partner in Woolslayer and Main, a music production project of Layman and David Bernabo (Boxstep, Vale and Year, David Bernabo + Assembly, and Ninth Ward) that has produced TV and video game soundtracks.

Layman’s former projects include Hovland, a Pittsburgh band from the 90’s, and Half Hour Action Drama.

(3) Developer is a harsh noise artist based in Dayton, Ohio.
