Debussy

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Achille-Claude Debussy (August 22, 1862 – March 25, 1918) is a French composer, and one of the originators of the impressionism in the music..

Debussy (also Claude Debussy) was regarded as one of the most important composers in the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th century. Notwithstanding that he delighted Wagner, Debussy denied romanticism - the leading trend in music before him. The composer preferred the impressionism in the music, which was influences by literature. He strove for absolute freedom in his life and work. He denied the following of scrubbed cliches and kept striving for the liberty of his work.

Debussy won "The Reward Of Rome" in 1884 with his academic -cantare- "Genius child".
He died during the german bombardments of Paris during the First World War.
