Multifaceted DJ, Producer and spoken word artist Dan Cooper hails from the idyllic Cotswolds, yet you wouldn't be able to tell that from his brazen past in underground experimental noise, Uk rap and free improvisation experiments.

Starting out in the late 90's under questionable moniker Puppy Bucket with a series of self produced lo-fi cassettes given out at school and college, Dan eventually ended up in the even more questionable rap duo Puppy Bucket & Donny Choonara alongside college cohort Andrew Lansley, later to be joined by Galen on bass, DJ's Leftside & Tipps and their own version of Bez, a dancer simply called 'Party'.

PBDC's popularity gained a small but steady following on pre-MySpace / Facebook message boards such as The Streets message board and their own Elbandito Recordings label website.

After veering off into a coarse series of experimental proto-dubstep compositions, Dan and Andy were approached by Mute Records, resulting in an appearance on the Sonic Mook compilation 'Hot Shit' alongside bands such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs and !!! (chk-chk-chk) plus gigs supporting the likes of Princess Superstar and Art Brut.

2008 saw a new project, Ion Whistle, with noise / chip tune artist Mark Burden. The focus switching in a more harsh noise and drone direction, garnering support slots with acts such as Shitmat, Infinite Livez and Chris Corsano. When Ion Whistle ended in 2010, Dan formed Brown Torpedo with best friend Danny Ash, incorporating a wider and wilder sound with more synth, dance elements, spoken word and R&B directions.

Brown Torpedo (still active) have since played countless gigs up and down the UK (supporting the likes of Basic House and DJ Scotch Egg) and have a prolific recorded output, largely documented on Dan's archival bandcamp site 'Pineal Reverie' (https://pinealreverie.bandcamp.com). Other notable side projects on the site include the 1999 project with Luke Ogden 'Fume' (recommended if you like Hype Williams) and solo gong experiments as Party Levitation.

Performing at Tempting Failure festival 2014 as Party Levitation, with a piece called 'Perfectly Good Guitar', Dan invited the audience to help him destroy 10 electric guitars processing the resulting sounds in a deafening cacophony of sound, strobe lights, smoke and sawdust.

Over the course of the last year, Dan decided to revisit the more pop based feel of his earlier output, and further aspirations into a more urban sound resulting in new solo recordings, namely the single Burnout Dominator and mixtape U OK HUN?. Contemporary Afro-Bashment influences, nods to Grime, Garage and late night minor key auto-tune sonnets are hazily cast through Dan's unique lens of lo-fi odd-pop sensibilities.

Dan also performs as a spoken word artist, self-publishing his first pamphlet in 2016, Slain Finch, and has performed at The Cheltenham Literature Festival, Stroud Fringe and Cheltenham Poetry Festival.

He now regularly DJ's at numerous venues around his home town.
