Covergirl

Powered by Audioscrobbler™There are at least 2 bands called Covergirl

1) Covergirl were an Emo/Rock 4-piece from the town of Merthyr in South Wales. Ignoring the surrounding current Welsh scene of tuneless screaming and the likes, the band draw their influences from the likes of AFI Queen, Feeder, Placebo,The Movielife and Glassjaw.

In 2005 the band released their EP entitled No Lycra, No Leotards, No Models, No Men, penned with previous member David Jones (dai dot) who left after recording to be replaced by Al. However in September 2006 the band fell out with vocalist Ceri Collins over a missing money dispute and when it was never resolved he left the band to perform as a solo artist. When Ceri Collins left the band lost their icon and have not since recovered due to lack of a singer and song writing ability lead by the two to leave. In 2007, they disbanded. The vocalist Ceri Collins now has his own solo acoustic material and plays in a band Hands Of Hate, who are mostly situated in Cannock, Birmingham. Al and Iwan currently play in Covergirl. After a hiatus from the scene, Dai Dot inteads to return in 2008 with a new acoustic esque band based much around Covergirl's more "chilled out" work, the likelihood being with assistance from original members.

2) Covergirl are a queer post-punk party band from London.
Their debut 7" is out now via Captured Tracks.
