Akram Abdulfattah is a Palestinian-American musician born in New Jersey, United States . Akram began studying percussion at a local Conservatory when he was six years old. At the age of 10 , he began studying classical violin with Stella Shternberg, then went on to study at the Beit-Almusica Conservatory with the musician Kamil Shajrawi. After graduating from Beit-Almusica with excellence in 2008, Akram started studying for his first degree at the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance, and graduated in 2012 to carry on with his master degree at the same academy. Abdulfattah won first place in the Marcel Khalifa Competition, Jerusalem, in both 2006 and 2008. He also won the first prize at the Palestinian National Music Competition in 2010. Abdulfattah participated in various projects overseas including pupil exchange with the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and the Arabic Music Retreat held in Mount Holyoke College MA, US – Simon Shaheen. He has performed in numerous festivals, concerts and musical TV shows as a violin soloist. And has also formed the youngest musical quartet in Palestine called “Awan"
