ADS

Powered by Audioscrobbler™There are at least two artists called ADS:

1st:
ADS was an punk/goth/post-punk band from Copenhagen, Denmark. They are for example featured in the documentary Totem on the Copenhagen punk underground in the early 80s.

2nd:
ADS is an artist/producer from Sheffield UK. Also known as Adsorb he produces many different styles but has a real flavour for Breaks. Alongside his production and DJ work he manages an award winning residential, recording studio called 'Kenwood Studios'. The studio has been running for around 5 years and has hosted guests such as 'Jazzy Jeff', 'Krafty Kuts', ‘Cash Money’and 'Dizzee Rascal', (to name a few).

His productions to date include an album project with Thai artist Seed. This collaboration is the first of its kind, coming from the East to the West blending many influences from Drum & Bass, House, Breakbeat and Dub it crosses right over. You can find 'To The End', one of the album tracks featured on the 2005 'Winter Chilled', Hedkandi compilation. Last year also brought tracks on a UK based Breaks label 'M-Theory', home of Jonathan Lisle (Bedrock). The 2 tracker 'Deep Song' and 'Feel it too', features vocals from 'Sara Jay', who sang on 'Dissolved Girl' featured on Massive Attack's 'Mezzanine' album. This 12" gained heaps of supporters including Hernan Cattaneo, Hyper, Adam Freeland and major radio support from John Digweed across Kiss FM and Bedrock.

He has also turned his head to remixing, turning 'Anthony Acid's' housey smash 'Sweat', into a funked up Breaks tune for CR2 Records. The new remix package also features mixes from Soul Avengers and was cained by Tongy at last years Miami Music Conference. He's also teamed up with Gatecrashers resident 'Corey' under the guise 'Corblimey', taking 'ATFC's' 'Mercy on me' into a deep & dark, twisted dance floor smash.

Adsorb is currently writing his debut solo album, which will be finished early this year. Expect the unexpected! Pulling in many of the influences that surround him at his studio, the album is about building bridges of many different styles and fusing them together. With some guest vocal appearances and cuts from Turntablists, it’s going to be a break from the norm and something fresh for 2006. Watch this space.........
