Andrew Morrison - March 2025 It's a one-hour show from Andy in March, packed full of great new music including Deary, Alison Eales, GLOK & Timothy Clerkin, Sjöblom, Aphex Twin, Lambrini Girls, Real Lies, Bdrmm, The Pony Collaboration and more. There's a cracking 1987 live version of a rarely performed New Order track, taken from one of the two DVDs included in November's box set reissue of the 'Brotherhood' album. You'll also hear Andy's favourite tune of the year (so far) from a collaborative album by Copenhagen acts Lust For Youth & Croatian Amor.

Gareth Jones - March 2025 Gareth's mad March show includes some interesting cover versions. Hear an Elvis Costello song sung in Spanish and a unique electro version of a Supergrass classic. There's a look back on the attack of the Blue Peter garden courtesy of Sir Robert Orange Peel, plus a look back on the swingin' 60s with two cuts from a new 4-CD set called 'There's No Stopping Us Now: The Female Mods' Forgotten Story'. The 2nd hour includes regular feature 'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue' with guest host Beth Arzy from dreampop band Jetstream Pony who release their new album 'Bowerbirds and Blue Things' on March 28th.

Leo Gilbert - March 2025 Leo was heard murmuring recently that his March show might be his most varied, and one of his most treasured, yet. There is barely a country on the planet that is not represented in the 48 songs that fill the show to bursting point, and he spans all genres, as well as playing songs that are impossible to categorise. How about these names to conjure with: Avery Friedman, Yasmine Hamdan, Ekowmania, Gnonnas Pedro and His Dadjes Band, Clara Mann and Glen Hutchinson. More familiar to you might be Low Roar, Perfume Genius, Richard Dawson and Billy Nomates. Whatever your cup of tea, tune in and dunk your metaphorical biscuit.

Rocker - March 2025 A one-hour show from Rocker this month, featuring new tracks from Helen McCookerybook; The Nightingales; Benefits; Jetstream Pony; Twice Dead; and Sweetpool. There's electronica from Vahr; The Catenary Wires collaborate with poet Brian Bilston; Japanese surf trio The Routes cover Joy Division; and there's a track from a previously unreleased 1970s solo album from former Banshee John McKay, finally seeing a release on the mighty Tiny Global label. This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a 1958 track from the king of the twangy guitar. As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: The primitive recording studio in Phoenix, Arizona, where Duane Eddy recorded his early work had no reverb or echo unit, so Eddy purchased a 2,000 gallon water tank to use as an echo chamber.

Sean Hocking - March 2025 Yep, yet another marathon so you'd better pace yourself! I can't quite work out yet whether 2025 is going to be one of those music years that when you look back you know something changed. All I can tell you at the end of February that there's already been a veritable tsunami of new music and some of it spells zeitgeist, especially artists like John Glacier, Juana Molina and my favourite discovery of the last year NZ's mysterious Frog Power. None of these artists sound the same but there's something about their mumbled defiance that has the voice of a generation that I'm probably too old to understand and that's just as it should be. It's certainly much more interesting than Lydon on his rants around the UK being given a helping hand by new manager McGee and the Frank Carter Pistols doing the cash from not very much chaos thing, although I imagine it's exactly what McClaren would have wanted to see. Old men and re-hashed cabaret that still somehow gets press whilst under our very noses are the likes of Colorado's Dead Pioneers who have something punk to sing about, the theft of an entire continent topped by the almost complete destruction of 100's if not 1000's of cultures, at least they've got something to be angry about. Metal Postcard has been busy this past month with new releases by all the usual suspects, Salem Trials, The Bordellos, Occult Character as well as new to the label Gentles from Melbourne and some undefinable Italians going by the name Tana Delle Pigri (an in joke for Italians only). I'm glad to see that English folklorist, painter and singer songwriter Ben Edge is back with his second album, I found that Montreal's Retail Simp$ had released a ltd ed 7" at the end of last year, The Conspiracy have a new single on the way, to my ears it's like Traffic meets mid 70's Neil Young, their X factor never fades. I should mention that we lost Marianne Faithfull, I only feature one song but really her catalogue is as good if not better than most of her peers make sure you do some re-discovery of your own. There's lots of other things i could mention but i'll let your ears do the work instead, that said the Holy Tongue Ambulance tune ... fierce

Thomas Blatchford - March 2025 Yours truly has a first outing on Wonderful Dandelion for the year and has some questions to ask. What if surf rock was somehow invented in post-punk Manchester? If you had to write a song about daylight savings time, what observation would you make? What's a donk? How has DJ Marcelle managed to make a record sound like a galloping horse? After the best part of two decades, now they're finally on vinyl, can you still spell Dananananakroyd? Some of these questions answered, plus recent gems from Kankawa Nagarra, Olivia's World, Jay Duncan, Daria Lourd and more! Jump up!

Protest Songs Etcetera - March 2025 X-Ray Moon's broadcast this month is dedicated to Protest Songs ... He poses the questions as to what happened to all the dreams and optimism, that a more egalitarian and less destructive future could be achieved for future generations? And why over the last fifteen years or so some of the ideas that fuelled the catastrophes of the previous century have re-established themselves? This is a programme that pulls together many songs that at some point or other have either been part of a wider movement for change or have commented upon injustices and oppressive actions or regimes; or, indeed, have celebrated moments when positive change has occurred or seemed as though it could. The protest songs X-Ray Moon has chosen for his show do not, regrettably, cover all corners of the globe. He nevertheless hopes he has produced a representative cross-section of tracks related to movements from over the years, and related to peoples' fights against injustices. This is 'Protest Songs Etcetera'.
