Andrew Morrison - June 2021 Andy has two shows in Dandelion Radio's June schedule. His regular show features an hour of new music including Andy Bell remixed by Pye Corner Audio, Laura Cantrell, Calibrate The System, Kelly Lee Owens and Tired Cossack. You'll hear another three tracks from Arab Strap's brilliant album 'As Days Get Dark'; an Andy's Old Chestnut from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds; plus a new live recording of a classic song from John Peel favourites Melys. Elsewhere, in his special Andy's Archives (Andy's first non-Peel Session related Archives for exactly ten years), he marks the 15th anniversary of Dandelion Radio's first ever set of shows streamed out over the Internet. Imagining an alternate reality in which Dandelion Radio started broadcasting a further 15 years before it actually did, Andy will be picking two hours of music that he would have played you had Dandelion Radio been on air from June 1991 right up to its actual launch in June 2006. So, join him - starting from when he would have been just 16 - to hear what he was enjoying back then, including Trembling Blue Stars, Mercury Rev, The Flaming Lips, The Caretaker, My Vitriol, Echoboy, Aphex Twin, Stereolab and loads of other great artists.

Brownbutter - June 2021 Might as well call him Brownerbutter this month as the Brownbuddsy, the Lovesy Dovesy, is committed to catching some rays and getting a little darker in this most liberating of summers, still keeping it real as he soaks up some crucial vitamin D. It's the Super Sunny Spectacular Summer Solstice Extravaganza Brownbutter radio show as the Toms, Damien Jurado, Can, Chavela Vargas, Spencer Krug and The Human League all shine, Lonnie Holley goes supernova, the Nopes offend, Parliament scorches and Lost Girls kiss from high places like an afternoon sunshower. June's show is 4 hours and 54 songs of rhythm and melody across a variety of eras and genres as only Dandelion Radio will deliver. This month's "I Got You Covered" segment includes takes on the Silver Jews, Gershwin, Mungo Jerryv, Grimes and Mazzy Star, among others. Take off your clothes and wear El Sol upon your skin, as our show travels on a warm breeze with nary a surf tune in sight. Please send all missives, insights, recipes, and emotional revelations to brownbutter@dandelionradio.com.

David Smith - June 2021 Greetings and welcome to my show for June 2021. We have a lot of great new songs, including those from Bachelor, Civic, Squirrel Flower, Really From, and a brand new single from an upcoming album by Suiix. This month we celebrate the 15th birthday of Dandelion Radio, and to mark the occasion I selected six awesome tracks from 2006. Helping us celebrate are Be Your Own Pet, Uncut, Daylight's For The Birds, The Riverboat Gamblers, The Radio Dept., and Tokyo Police Club. We also have material from The Dirtbombs, Salt, a great Banda song from Banda Machos, and The Cruel Sea who were led by the OTHER "Man In Black", Tex Perkins. There is much more on top of all that. Enjoy the show!

Gareth Jones - June 2021 Gareth's June show brings a packed 2 hours. Indiepop legends Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey in their guise as The Catenary Wires are this month's special guests for the feature "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue", introducing 4 songs of their choice, plus two tracks from their new album "Birling Gap" (released June 18th). For "Secret Songs from the Sixties", there are two cuts taken from the recent Jasmine Records compilation "C'mon Let's Do The British Twist". And as we mark 15 years since Dandelion Radio began, way back on 21st June 2006, Gareth picks 5 tracks from 2006 which didn't make it into the Festive 50 that year. All this plus plenty of new releases, ranging from Japan's CHAI to quirky cult artist Momus.

Leo Gilbert - June 2021 Leo joins in the Dandelion 15th birthday celebrations this month by starting his show with the tune he shared very noisily with his neighbours on an anniversary of John Peel's death: Melt-Banana's wonderfully named "Shield Your Eyes, a Beast in the Well of Your Hand". For the remaining three hours 56 minutes, he has a mesmerising array of tunes from all over the world. Familiar names include Burial, Sharon van Etten, Squarepusher, Billy Nomates, Max Cooper, Gary Numan and Nathan Fake. Artists who were new to Leo and might also be new to you include Special Interest, Stiff Pap, Gajek, Rüstəm Quliyev, Vladislav Delay and the wonderful Svitlana Ohrimenko aka Svitlana Nianio. Mark Cunliffe - June 2021 Fifteen eh? This month is a bit of a birthday for us here. Yes, Dandelion Radio is a mid teenager and with all that's going on in the world there is every chance for some stroppiness. What acts of musical rebellion can we ignite with this month then? Shyfta comes at us with some heavy UKG and there is something new from the brilliant Little Simz. Isatta Sheriff has a new EP out and I'm playing a proper tune off that, while Clipz has remixed Koffee without any froth at all. I seem to have headed to some South African house in a big way with the likes of Ryan Murgatroyd, Joint4Nine and Avi Subban. Not really a deliberate policy but they seem to ween them on house music in South Africa, it's in the blood. There are world vibes from Anansy Cissé and Alostmen while, as a nod to the big birthday, I've headed back to 2006 with some tunes that would have appeared on my June show back then had I been one of the founder members. Thanks to all listening currently and to everyone over those the last 15 years. Big up x

Mark Whitby - June 2021 We welcome back a lot of old favourites to the show this month. There's something from the new 93MillionMilesFromTheSun album, an extended helping from the new album by Godspeed You! Black Emperor and the first appearance in some time for Marissa Nadler, who featured heavily in some of my earliest Dandelion Radio shows, fittingly in the month in which we celebrate our 15th anniversary. We've also got our share of first timers too. There's something from Croatia's Bible Thrower, a track from the cracking Dez Dare album and some dub from Bukkha. Retrospectively, we Peel back to session tracks featured forty, thirty and twenty years ago this month; there's also something from an excellent Joe Hill Louis anthology and a similarly excellent Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee compilation.

Rocker - June 2021 A three hour show, including new tracks from The Nightingales; Drinking Boys And Girls Choir; Fresh; Richard Quirk & Martyn Thomas; Neighborhood Brats; The Catenary Wires; Lonely Tourist; Jane & John; Jackson Reid Briggs & The Heaters; Cheval Sombre; Needles//Pins; The Wind-Ups; Quivers; Massage; Beau; Urges; The Natvral and The Reds, Pinks And Purples. There's electronica from Burial; Future Meta Laser; Paranoid London; DJ Ralph; Iraja and Antonator. There's a bunch of tracks from Scotland, including Chris Connelly & Monica Queen; Sister John and Dropkick. The modern ska movement continues apace with a bunch of new 7" releases from the great Happy People Records. This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a 1958 Rock'n'roll classic, while this month's Educating Elizabeth record is a current soul spin written by Neil Young. As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: A honeybee would have to make over 20,000 pollen-gathering trips to make a single jar of honey.

Sean Hocking - June 2021 It's another 4 hours from Sean this month featuring the usual selection of something new, something old that we hope you haven't heard before. In the world of new we have UK based Fimber Bravo former musical director of Skin & Steel working with electronic producers to put a whole new spin on steel drums/pans music. As a kid growing up in the Caribbean, steel drums were my introduction to the world of sound and partying so I've immediately fallen in love with this album. We also have recently come across left field electronica bod, Proc Fiskal, out of Scotland who makes wonderfully beguiling experimental electronica that at no time goes down the rabbit hole of most electronic experiminta that we hear. If you like people with a sound that is entirely their own we reckon he's up there with the like of Burial and Aphex Twin. He sounds nothing like either but like them stands apart from the pretenders. We have new LA bands, Grave Bongo Flowers & Hoveriii who straddle the best of Krautrock, west coast sounds and even a bit of prog. It shouldn't work but it does. In the world of old we revisit LA producer Secret Circuit, the Black Lips (because we can never get bored of them) and, released on metal postcard many moons ago, Krom Monster and their tune Khmer Storm ... one of the most evocative pieces of music we've ever heard about Cambodia. Also let's not forget our favourite new UK songwriter Ben Edge, also a visual artist who has been studying the ever changing nature of English folk traditions as modernity and now the technological age fully foisted upon us. He's written a truely sublime album about how those traditions and the music associated with dance re-morphs as we move forward. Really a rather wonderful album (his paintings are pretty good too) and contender for our favourite of the year.

Thomas Blatchford - June 2021 Thomas - as has been asserted on the show before - tends to consider nostalgia as a disease, but has gone slightly soft this month in celebrating the 15th anniversary of Dandelion Radio. The last quarter of this episode is given over to tunes that would've been played on The Thomas Show if it existed when the station was founded in 2006. Having been given an immediate audial Proustian rush by Listen With Sarah, talk soon turns to indie discos, hyperactive "IDM" (remember that?) and foul-mouthed children, as well as the vintage of the 2006 Festive Fifty. Back to now, though, and this month also has K5, a song called KEK, a K9 remix, mention of an artist called K-65, and a huge Keith / Kwame collaboration. OK? Plus utterly splendid new singles from Bad Bangs, RBI, Nwando Ebizie, Plaster of Paris, Bo Ningen and the like. Music is my boyfriend, and we noticed you from across the bar...
