Proc Fiskal Image from Discogs Edinburgh’s Proc Fiskal is at the forefront of Scotland’s counterpart to the Ruff Sound that Novelist and Mumdance have been giving legs to in recent months. ‘The procurator’ uses his debut EP on Hyperdub to tear through grime, jungle, happy hardcore, juke and all else at 160 beats per minute. Tracks like ‘£’, ‘Skulka’ and ‘Milk and Biscuits’ wear the producer’s love for the Eski sound on their sleeve, with square waves and drip-drop percussion bouncing giddily around the monitors, while ‘Lamentation’ and ‘Acidic Hoes’ doff their caps to some old-skool sounds in a new-skool style.
