Just like last month, a shorter (two hour) summer show from Marcelle. Dressed in a bikini (honest!) she plays new vinyl from amongst others Fishstix, Battista, BonerM, Kode9, Demdike Stare and Lurka.
Welcome re-issues come from not least than 49 (honest!) Americans and Muslimgauze remixing Suns Of Arqa (in Wax Across The Water). There's a label spotlight on Berlin's Moniker Eggplant label and another highlight of the show is not less than 30 (honest!) Indian cars horns blowing away, courtesy of Staalplaat Soundsystem.

For this journey Marcelle's Vinyl Train starts at 'Walworth Road', provides the traveller at another stop with some 'In-Sight', and at a next one the listener is 'Looking Into The Sun'.
Amazingly this month's train ride through Marcelle's record collection involves some 'Rowing'. Maybe that's why on board we all do 'The Dance Of The Bamboos' and contemplate whether 'Home Is The Range'.

As we move into August I'm still gutted that I missed last month's World Snail Racing Championships at Congham's Cricket Field. My helix pomatia suffered an acute adductor muscle injury in the build up to the event and sadly couldn't compete.
So, what can I tell you about this month's show in a nut shell? The Uncluded are having a gentle bike ride and Phonomatt & Tommyboy have give them the pumpkin time. Queen Ifrica wants to make like a four year old with a water pistol but that's small beer to Scout Niblett. Sink Tapes are cooking up some fish with Gordon Ramsey and Ling has lost his viagra. An exclusive session from Spidersleg - his fifth for the show - ought to be enough to generate sufficient excitement on its own, but this month we seriously overload the basket of new music with, among other things, fine releases from Them Wolves, Emufucka, Secret Prostitutes and a preview of the rather wonderful new album from Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno.
In addition to all that, Iraq's DJ Foundation approaches the world in his inimitably caustic manner, Kwaya Ya Patandi add some magical gospel from Tanzania, while UKIYO bring together Argentinian and Japanese influences with almost impossibly sublime results. We've got something from the recent David Lynch album, another taster from the forthcoming JD Meatyard LP and a whole batch of cassette-based goodies from Sewer Side, Gravel Samwidge and Thee Tsunamis.
This being August, I'm making my annual pilgrimage to South Wales for the Green Man Festival and the show features numerous reasons to look forward to the experience, featured artists this year including The Pastels, Darren Hayman, Sam Amidon and Fuck Buttons, while this month's Peel Back... feature includes a couple of vintage tracks from two legends making their bow on the festival's main stage this year.

There's the exclusive first public airing of the new single by my own band The Flatmates, and our singer Lisa also crops up as one half of duo Satan & Megastar. Not sure whether she is S or M. The Flatmates will also be out playing a few gigs in the UK this month, variously alongside Flowers and The Wedding Present, who also both crop up in the show.
Skint & Demoralised, and Keith Top Of The Pops & His Minor UK Celebrity All-Star Backing Band both cover MJ Hibbett songs on a new charity album, while Hard Skin crop up both in their own right, and with an unexpected guest vocalist.
This month's Educating Elizabeth record is from a classic and scarce 1973 album which has recently been reissued, while Peel's Big 45 is from the year 2000.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Public Service Broadcasting's 'Lit Up' track samples classic live radio footage of Lt Cdr Tommy Woodroofe's inebriated attempts to commentate on the Spithead Royal Naval Review 1937.

Here it is the August Ring of Fire show. It's summer vacation time so I'm in the States hiding up in the Pacific Northwest so we're a bit heavy on USA music in this show.
From Portland we feature some great new tracks from White Fang's latest cassette "Steady Truckin' For Summer" , new locals The Woolen Men, Pinks Quieter and the wonderful Portugal The Man who just get better and better.
From San Francisco via Birmingham a new 7" from Matthew Edward & The Unfortunates due soon on Metal Postcard as well as something from the wonderful ROC (Re-incarnation of Christ). They could have been big in the 90's but the music industry took it's toll. Metal Postcard has just bought their debut album and will be re-releasing it along with a rarities compilation and maybe even a new album. Keep your eyes and ears peeled
And for a bit of summer fun we've got some Bhundu Boys Jit Jive from Zimbabwe .. a favourite of Peel's and something new from Zimbabwe, Mokoomba ... and to finish up the show some Isaan (North East Thailand) Dancehall Style which I hope will bring a big smile.
