Andy has a one-hour show for you in October, featuring new music including Mark Peters, Desperate Journalist, Shygirl, Renzniro, The Balloonist, Gone Future, Arab Strap, Sunday,June, Then Comes Silence, and the ridiculously prolific Spoek Mathambo (59 tracks released this year and counting). There are two Andy's Old Chestnuts from 1993 and 1986 which mark both specific and somewhat loose tributes to the late Dolly Parton, plus there's a track from a reissued 2001 album Andy was previously unaware of by Sing-Sing featuring Emma Anderson of Lush.

David Smith - October 2026
Greetings!

This month I pay my respects to three recently departed artists: Dolly Parton, Frank Beard, and Tim Curry.
I have new stuff from Ty Segall, Dinosaur Jr., Computerwife, Kuoleva, Slot, Saigon Soul Revival, IZM, Spread Joy, Alum Alu, and more. I also have a lot of new music from Lebanon, and not one but two new releases from the always amazing Party Dozen.

I try to keep my in-show talking to a minimum to make more room for music, but I do have more to discuss about what I play, so check out my companion show notes over at http://davidondandelion.blogspot.com.

Enjoy the show!!

Emma Reed - October 2026
There's minimal chat from Emma this month as she celebrates Black History Month by making way for some of her favorite recent offerings from across the globe.
Including two acts from the rosta of this year's Decolonise festival in the shape of Silver Tabby and Hang Linton, Brazillian energy from Índio da Cuíca, curious sound art from Elliot Reed (no relation), surprising yet traditional folk tunes from Oman Bagpipe Singers and Kucwiny Theatre Industry, and possibly her favourite new discovery Sudan Archives.
There's a track from KINACT who are part band, part arts and crafts upcycling performance art, romantic kalimba from Dawuna and a slice of pure joy from Msindaba Jazz Band.
This show could have been six days long so please come and find me on Instagram and let me know who else should have been included.

Gareth Jones - October 2026
It's time for musical tricks and treats in the 1st hour of his October show, because it's Gareth's annual Halloween Spooktacular, with song topics covering vampires, bats, horror films, haunted houses and more. Bands including Messer Chups and British Birds will provide plenty of scary songs, plus there's 3 tracks from a brand new Halloween compilation called 'The Haunted Jukebox', out Oct 16th on Chuputa! Records. Then the 2nd hour's guest presenter is Amelia of Brighton Indiepop band Amelia & The Housewives who'll be introducing songs in the 'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue' to coincide with the release of their eponymous debut album, out Oct 2nd on INH Records.

Johny Row - October 2026
On this months show I try our my new random music genre wheel segment which threw out Tekk music and is sure to get your blood pumping.

I've got brand new tracks from Prolapse, Nat Johnson and the Figureheads and Shit and Shine as well as Peel favourite PJ Harvey.

Also in there some witchy hip hop goodness from Erykah Badu, genre defying Belgian electronic music from De Kloe and a new mash up from Cuban Boys amongst others.

Nothing too ghoulish for Halloween apart from my scary presenting!

Leo Gilbert - October 2026
Punk rock is not dead. It has merely been reorganised, digitised, remastered and given several opportunities to explain itself. In Leo's show this month, John makes the case, followed by Reeko, Arca and Tommy Barlow, who ensure matters remain unnecessarily complicated. Gnod provide testimony from The Witness, while Datblygu ring the bells of somewhere in Wales. There is fugue, moonlight and dawn, presumably because daytime has become difficult. Overmono and John Joseph Holt arrive in Shining Prada, while David Peel remains, reassuringly, King of Punk.
Elsewhere: Kenyan rhythms, Scottish exhaustion, dream editions, morphine, blonde people, Brahms and at least one wrong number. Xiu Xiu bring the Smashy Smashy. The Femcels have the final word. And somewhere in the middle, Leo contributes Qwershape. Thirty-five tracks. No obvious conclusion. Probably for the best.

Leo Gilbert Again - October 2026
The second October show from Leo begins with The Notwist looking directly into the machinery of existence and discovering an X-ray. From there, things deteriorate.
Chanel Beads sends a message to someone, possibly from inside a haunted answering machine, while Nuhara opens a ceremonial portal somewhere in Corsica. HIGHSIGH, with Max Jaffe, asks us to consider the words we choose, which is unfortunate because by this point language has already begun leaking out of the walls.

Arab Strap introduce some Glamour Magick. Black Doldrums repeat themselves until reality starts buffering, followed by Grace Cummings, who announces, with admirable directness, that something is FAKE. Senyawa then appear to set fire to the concept of rhythm.

Martin Green and One Must Forget provide further evidence that folklore and existential dread can share a bus shelter. Mannequin Pussy bark loudly. Dylan Henner phones his friends so they can sing harmonies over the distance. FRANTX supplies three mysterious letters. The Strokes are lonely in the future, which sounds about right.

Then The Avalanches summon Karen O from the Blue Shadows, Clark rearranges the moons, and Kai Whiston swings from crimson ropes.

Datblygu remind us that Welsh pop can still sound like a radio transmission from a parallel universe. Marcioz awards proceedings 6/10. Réka Csiszér & Radwan Ghazi Moumneh count to six. mary in the junkyard invoke the mantra. Julia Holter loses something.

Finally, Tommy Barlow, VESTALE VESTALE & RAY BORNEO, Hora Lunga and Obaako drag us towards the natural force that attracts things towards the Earth.

Mark Cunliffe - October 2026
Jeezus, it will soon be blinkin' Christmas, I'm not ready. actually, I'm never ready. What tunes, this month, can act as an antidote to the countdown for Christmas?
Well, Oldboy and Ho Gosh have teamed up very well it has to be said. There is more from the excellent Negative Headphone and Durrty Goodz is bringing some fire. Warrior Queen is on form teaming up with Dom Peter.
Nickynutz has more junglist goodness and MADMADMAD have gone....well, MAD.
This show is no different in that it meanders all over the place but it does also have a fabulous featured album from the excellent King Kashmere.

Mark Whitby - October 2026
In this month's show we've got an exclusive session from New York's The Male Pattern, which includes two tracks currently unavailable elsewhere in any form. There are also tracks from new albums by Barbican Estate, Arab Strap. Mad Professor and Drift, among others, plus an early listen to some tracks from the forthcoming Alexei Shiskin album.

Shonen Knife have re-cut their classic 1992 album, so naturally we dip into that as well. We've also got Dub Spirits remixing Alisa Ruby Bash, a new Swansea Sound single and, from Brazil, something from the excellent Yang Boi EP. Meanwhile, our Peel Back... feature this month includes a track from the very first punk session recorded for the John Peel show.

Sean Hocking - October 2026
It's October and the inevitable post summer slew of new releases is here. So, for the first time in a while it's 4 hours from Sean with only 1 track from each artist, as much as I would have loved to give you 2 or 3 off the Blind Yeo debut or Frog Power's latest, I wanted to squeeze in as many new tunes as possible.

How could I not include the new Shit & Shine, Useless Eaters or Neon Kittens releases?

I'm loving Snout Fever and have fallen in love with Detroit based Credit Card who not only sound totally of that city they also remind me of the spirit of Death Grips and the Prodigy. I'm hoping others think like me and they don't disappear into the ether. They sound like a band who reflect the times.

I had to remember Dolly Parton, her politics and independence of thought and sound make her one of the greats and last but not least, I thought it was about time we listened to The Three Johns again. They are as good as I remember them and were way ahead of the curve in the mid 80's.

Thomas Blatchford - October 2026
Welcome if you dare to the spoooooky Halloween episode of yours truly's DandeFRIGHTEN radio show, where there's wigglers and phosphenes and bottoms of the night to you!
Why did Snake Thighs not attend the ball? They had 'Nobody' to go with! And look there's The Fall feeling numb in France 30 years ago! Ooooh! So delightful and frightful! The ghost of JJ Doom is here too, and echoes from the past from Aural Indifference and kindred spirits Galactic Symposium, and is that People Like Us playing the ouija board?
Plus new non-gloomy howls from Spread Joy and Weird 1000 and Hodge and the like!
What a treat!

X-Ray Moon - October 2026
This is by far the best October show that X-Ray Moon has done since his show from approximately 12 months ago ...
For this 2026 version he provides us with some groovy sounds that are both old and new, mainly new.
Some new and new-ish releases come from: Feeble Little Horse, Gnod, Lowertown, The Baby Seals, Julian Cope, DR. DENCE DOT SPAM, and Fat Dog. Plus some of the ones that really should be heard again (or that may have been missed first time around) are by: Los Texao, Cloud Canyons, Electric Sandwich, and Infinity Frequencies.
X-Ray Moon hopes everyone has a fantastic Autumn and enjoys the show!
