Andrew Morrison - August 2026 Andy's August show has 60 minutes of new and recent music from Broken Social Scene, The Early Years, R. Missing, The Twilight Sad, Sister Ray Davies, Les Big Byrd, and Veps. There's a languid, summery ambient guitar piece from Birds In The Brickwork which includes a field recording that has a surprising connection to one of Andy's past jobs; an obscure Andy's Old Chestnut from a 1995 'Volume' compilation CD by State Of Grace, plus the two latest brilliant singles released in June and July from Andy's favourite band (and past guests on the show) Arab Strap's forthcoming 9th studio album. Brevi Linens - August 2026 This month Brevi'll have you bouncing around the room for the first half hour to get it all out of your system with some cracking psychedelic surf punk from PowerSolo before we go on to some unusual hip hop from Indian artist That Lakshay. There's going to be some dirty noise coming at you from Pittsburg's kicked in the head by a horse and LOUSE because sometimes the world hurts and that hurt should not be swept under the carpet, it needs to be expressed. There'll be an exclusive track from the great forthcoming The Yummy Fur album which is out at the end of next month. Emma Reed - August 2026 Emma kicks off her fourth show with a touching tribute to Bonnie Tyler from EldGrisen and then rattles very quickly along a rollercoaster of bands with the word 'Snuggle' in their name, live tracks recorded at Leigh Folk festival, some squelch from Wayne Adams , exquisite vocalisations from Eleonora Kampe and the contents of a very busy inbox because you're a talented and generous bunch. There's finally a track from the suavely downbeat Tony Morris and we end with a bit of sweary fun from Angry!, a Southend punk band fronted by a man called Gary and a lady called Anne. Gareth Jones - August 2026 Gareth's August show brings you 2 hours of new releases, from Riot Grrrl to Country to Electro. Plus some secret instrumentals from the Sixties and some unusual cover versions (ever heard 'Swan Lake' played by surf guitar?). In the 2nd hour the show is joined by guest presenters PLRLS (pronounced "Plurals"), a Post-Punk & New Wave band from Baltimore, Maryland. 3 band members will be taking part in another edition of 'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue', plus introducing a couple of songs off their latest album 'Sleeping In A Dress'. Johny Row - August 2026 Somewhat unbelievably I kick things off this month with the long-awaited posthumous return of The Fall, before heading off in all sorts of directions with new music from Les Mamans du Congo & Photay, Genesis Owusu, Overmono, Kristin Hersh, Gilla Band and Arab Strap. Elsewhere, there’s a track from one of my favourite albums of the year so far — Sicilian folk colliding with industrial electronics courtesy of Nuhara, the hypnotic grandad channeling sounds of King Ayisoba, dirty ambient beats from Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, and of course the obligatory Italian powerviolence from Ape Unit. I also have a bit of a rant about AI making up complete nonsense about one of the artists, alongside the usual random ramblings. Count Binface for the win! Leo Gilbert - August 2026 Another of Leo's radio programmes has been assembled. The tracks have been arranged into an order after a process that can no longer be reconstructed. The result begins with The Fall setting the thermostat to 30 Degrees before Hora Lunga politely presents Telepass, after which events become steadily less accountable. Blak Saagan, Otay:onii and The Denson Quartet briefly suggest that human civilisation remains operational. Hannah Frances maintains composure while Nathan Fake demonstrates that geometry can be loud. Gurriers advise that nobody is coming to save you. Pussy Riot recommend disobedience anyway. Both positions are noted. Elsewhere, De Ambassade's white horses appear, Speedy J's vectors drift, Callahan & Witscher's five-year plan fails to inspire confidence, and One Leg One Eye proves one eye is sufficient for hunting. taihr brings heavy rain, Chad Van Gaalen gets stuck inside the walls, and there is the persistent suspicion that someone has accepted a new job without fully reading the description. Midway through, PJ Harvey travels, The Notwist contemplates dentistry, Joshua Crumbly laughs with unnerving commitment, and L'Rain quietly dismantles the distinction between soul-searching and system failure. Lyra Pramuk adjusts reality, Chanel Beads removes everything except the drums, and Nuhara descends into memory with admirable determination. Martin Green and Radie Peat offer a reminder that sincerity still exists, just before sandy chamoun, Gilla Band and Strange Pink ensure that any emotional stability is kept within acceptable limits. First Class and Coach address dishonesty, Voka Gentle remixes Bob Dylan by way of another dimension, and Lolina concludes proceedings with Monopoly of Mistakes, a title that feels less like a song than an administrative summary. Mark Whitby - August 2026 Having recently spoken again with Lee Fowler, founder of the Thomas Imposter label, thoughts of Japanese bands were swirling in my head so I thought I'd check out the new Cosmic Rock compilation of sixties Japanese bands. Very pleased I did - and it's my featured compilation this month. Alongside it you can hear tracks from new albums by Gentles, Stand High Patrol, The Joy Thieves and Rizomagic. We've also got new tracks from Robert Wotnot, Adrian Crowley and Foglights. among others, while there's another intriguing look-ahead to the Tian Qiyi & Jah Wobble album of Beatles covers. Oh, and there's also something by some band called The Fall. This month's Peel Back... feature is slightly truncated. We chill a little bit with Ed O'Brien, 7ebra, Georgian and welcome back Sunflower Thieves. We look at the upcoming forecast with tracks heading our way from future releases by The Go, Railcard, Sharp Pins and Gilla Band. All of this plus recent singles still shining in the sun from Girl & Girl, Sleep, Axel Boman, The 18th Parallel and MadMadMad. Rocker - August 2026 An hour from Rocker this month, featuring new tracks from The Simple Present; Cornershop ft.Bubbley Kaur; Gimic; Big Lightnin'; Pocket; The Darling Buds; The Guy Hamper Trio; Nathy SG; Joseph Tawadros; and Foglights. There's electronica from Roman Flügel, and Grandbrothers remixed by Max Cooper. The Reds, Pinks And Purples cover The Pet Shop Boys; and there's a track from an essential compilation collecting the early works of DC indie legends Velocity Girl. This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a 1930 recording, one of the final recordings by one of the Jazz era's greatest cornet players, who died tragically young. As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Saint Jude is the patron saint of the despairing, last recourse for hopeless cases and lost causes. Sean Hocking - August 2026 We kick off with some Indonesian gabber harsh noise like only they can do and why not start with a track called "Radio Station IS Dead" US based indie outfit Twisted Teens are back with their second release this year, I'm also really enjoying The Carp out of the US too. My real discovery this past month are Use Knife with something that really sounds different and exciting and, even better, their music sits in a genre free zone. It's been a long hot summer in Europe and a new Tell Edits re-edit of The Style Council's classic track turned up in my inbox. There's also new ones from Choncy, Billiam, Robyn Hitchcock, Jimothy Lacoste who isn't much of a fan of Tate Modern, Tricky and my favourite US hip hop artist of the last year, Tierra Whack. A nice surprise this month, Evil Graham Lee aged 72 has released his debut album! There is also the debut of London band Mary In The Junkyard who have been building a following through their association with the Windmill (Brixton) scene. X-Ray Moon - August 2026 This month X-Ray Moon takes us to a world where there are two suns in the sky, the clocks turn backwards and vegan sausages have become all powerful benign overlords... The planet, both in psychological terms and environmental ones, has become at ease with itself and has 'embraced the strange'. Experimental and non-linear art and music has become the norm, and 'life is a babbar-jay old chum'. Peiriant, Gabriel Zingiber, and Mary In The Junkyard are happily meandering hand-in-hand down a tree-lined avenue with old wise-heads such as Julian Cope and CAN. X-Ray Moon finishes with the following: to Fight War Not Wars and to Save The Planet and above all listen to good music (a lot of which can be found at Dandelion Radio).
