Dubster - February 2017
It's February and so far it's been a decidedly mild winter in our wee corner of Scotland. No greater incentive then for Steve and Brian to get back in the shed and knock out another show. That's 2 in 3 months ... woah, easy fellas!
This month we feature tracks from Papa M, Swell Maps, Housewives, Car Seat Headrest, Half Japanese, Quilt, The Pop Group and Carla dal Forno amongst others.
Turn on, tune in and make the most of their industriousness, it'll never last!

Lee Adcock - February 2017
Welcome to the month of love, y'all. And by "love", of course, I mean obscene amounts of noise, warped pop songs, and really loud guitars. Anyone who shows up with roses will be kicked out the door. (Well, OK, there is one person that I would admit, but he isn't in this show, soooooo....).
We're back to the three-hour marathon, which this month is buoyed by two giant slabs of oozing, melting chocolate - a 20-minute opus of terror from Jute Gyte, and a ridiculous sputtering mess from DunningWebsterUnderwood. In between, Dendera Bloodbath and Guttersnipe are busy lacing heart-shaped candies with arsenic; Mister Lettuce and Bastards of Fate are sifting through mailboxes and stealing yr love letters; Drome and Uniform are printing nasty messages in kiddies' V-day cards. Rest assured, though, some romantics still hang about, like the bashful Henoheno, the mysterious Spartan Jet-Plex, or the poetic Harlot Party. And you may not regard accordions as enchanting now, but give Mario Batkovic a minute at the mic, and you might reconsider.
In the "names you might recognize" category, Xiu Xiu returns with (what should be) a surprise pop hit, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have resurfaced with a strange oscillation, The Prids make a dreamy comeback, and Tunabunny continue to bewitch with incantations from their new double album. Also, I'm reprising Alexander F of Rubblebucket, because I really can't get enough of that guy. Plus, we close with the new single from Eureka California - which is fitting, as they've closed with the very same number on many a gig!

Mark Whitby - February 2017
There are two shows from me this month.
Dementio13 features heavily in this month's regular show. There's an exclusive session mix plus something from the EP he's recently put out as half of Cwtch and the single he's released with Equinox. Elsewhere in the show there's the new single from next month's session guest Lord Numb, a track from the forthcoming Pindar's Apes album, plus something from the superb Kloba Kent EP and the long-awaited new David Tantamount album.
The show continues to make the case for a Europe without musical borders and in that spirit we've got something from the new EP from Poland's Blossom, a cassette release from Italians Surf Cassette and a featured compilation in the form of the extraordinary 'Wilhelmenia Show Me The No No No' release, featuring a whole bunch of bands from Austria producing the kind of defiant racket I reckon is going to prove essential listening in the months to come.
We also feature tracks from recent and very timely live releases from Funkadelic and Leonard Cohen, while the Peel Back.. section of the show looks back forty years with three tracks from the vintage Peel programmes of January 1977.
My other show is called "Seven Nations" and it is not rugby related.

Mark Whitby's Seven Nations - February 2017
An additional show from me this month is a one hour special featuring artists from the seven nations that were banned from entering the United States by Donald Trump at the end of Friday 27th January 2017.
As it's unlikely that Trump is a Dandelion listener, it's sadly unlikely to bring about any change to his policy but we hope it offers at least some musical solidarity with the countries concerned.
Needless to say, there are some damn fine tunes too.

Pete Jackson - February 2017
While some in power might strive to make the world a smaller place, Pete continues to welcome all-comers to the show, with music this month from as far afield as Ghana, Sweden, Turkey, Canada, Japan, Italy, Australia, Germany, the USA and perhap most importantly Hebden Bridge, home of this month's session guest Jumble Hole Clough who has provided us with a whopping 8 new and exclusive tracks.
There's a welcome return for show favourites Lord Numb, Dementio13 and The Wedding Present alongside whippersnappers Red Star Martyrs and Sir Robert Orange Peel, and in a packed show (29 tracks in 2 hours!) there's even time to celebrate the wit and wisdom of America's 45th President courtesy of San Diego's Anal Trump.

Rocker - February 2017
Another packed three hour show, with a featured album from The Blue Aeroplanes. Also new tracks from Half Japanese; Burnt Palms; Liquids; Wire; The Suburban Homes; Tinsel Heart; The Proper Ornaments; Shit Present; David Bowie; The Drain On The Balcony; The Nightingales; Hater; The Pooches and Guttfull.
From 1930 there's a track from blueswoman Geeshie Wiley, and also an updated version by Elli De Mon - an Italian artist on a French label who also incorporates a Hindustani raga. Meanwhile Crawley punks The Suburban Homes bring us an updated version of a Television Personalities classic.
There's new electronica from Third Son; Throwing Snow; Kasper Björke; Doon Kanda; and Solomun comes up with a storming remix of Michael Mayer.
This month's Peel's big 45 is a 1972 release on the Dandelion record label, while this month's Educating Elizabeth record is a much sought after Northern Soul classic from 1965.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Overend Watts, who sadly died last month, was actually christened Peter Overend Watts, his middle name was an old family name.

Sean Hocking - February 2017
It's February and there's a new president here in the US so I'll be playing something related by Bloomington Illinois band, The Liquids.
This year is starting with some amazing music. We begin the show with something new from Bristolian sonic explorer Shackleton and to say that I'm excited would be an understatement. Also from Bristol, and they've been round a couple of years, are the Idles who I'd suggest are one of the most important bands in Britain at the moment.
Also featured are London Grime crew Sir Spyro featuring Teddy Bruckshot, Lady Chann and Killa P, plus Last Quokka from Perth West Australia whose line of punk sound like the real thing to me. There's also a new one from Steve Mason and the normal selection of unknowns that have tickled my eardrums over the last month.
We have got a couple of oldies too. A fantastic version of Granchester Meadows from the new Pink Floyd Cre/ation CD that details some great outtakes and unknowns from their earlier years. Last year's "Burn The Witch" by Radiohead which has crept up on me as 2016 played itself out and finally a great U.S new wave band from the 80s called The Dancing Cigarettes who have only just appeared on my radar and I have to say I'm very glad they have.
