Jeff Grainger - May 2016 Part 2 of Jeff's birthday show has such beauties as Teenage Fanclub, Jenny Rock, Public Enemy and Clint Eastwood & General Saint. Jeff manages to squeeze a tribute to the passing of another musical great, Prince, whose death was announced whilst he was recording this show.

Kevin Robinson - May 2016 A last minute tribute to the legendary Prince results in a sombre start to this month's show in the form of a chilling cover version from Hyperdub's Kode9 & The Spaceape. New releases in this show are supplied by Mind Spiders, The Comet Is Coming, Cowtown, Thee Oh Sees and eMMplekz, plus we have another track from the terrific EP by Sheffield's Blood Sport. It's a particularly strong month for abrasive new punk with Mexico's Mujercitos, Sao Paulo's Rakta and Olympia's Gag. We also spin some wonderful electronic offerings from Amsterdam's Eindkrak, 17 year old New Orleans producer Joseph Petersen, Lisbon's DJ Marfox, Berlin's Amnesia Scanner and Japanese musician Ippu Mitsui, plus there's a deadly composition from Helsinki's Deadcode and a thunderous collaboration between Ancient Methods and Cindytalk. Listen out for tunes from China, Mali, Ethiopia, Greece, and a track lifted from the new album by legendary Congolese band Konono No. 1.

Lee Adcock - May 2016 A dead body in the boot of a nova is the least of my problems, as long as there's room for the shopping and/or the massive haul of tunes I've gathered over the past month. (I've been inserting quotes from the new The Future of the Left LP whenever I can lately. Bear with me.) Two beloved labels, the Audacious Art Experiment and Audio Antihero, will pass out killer samples as you shop; Ocean Party and dälek are knocking down displays in the liquor aisle; Infecticide and ICHI have hijacked the muzak channel in the elevator; Frankie Cosmos and Eskimeaux navigate the ever-baffling cereal aisle together; and the new product line from Ash Koosha is in, but none of the grocers can figure out where it should go (maybe somewhere between Ghost's exploding geometry and Ital Tek's hollowed model buildings?). If you're looking for value size packs, never fear - down that aisle you'll find great deals on black metal with Mirrors for Psychic Warfare, Torpor, and The Poisoned Glass, while in that corner you'll find jazz fusion and house by the dozen from Al Dobson Jr. and Floating Points. All this, and we haven't even touched on Kristin Hersh, who's about to drop a new 50 Foot Wave EP. So yeh, good times in store for this month.

Mark Cunliffe - May 2016 What do we have this month? Well, there's some bass vibes from Elliot Mess and Spooky remixing Wiley. Gappy Ranks is back with some more Jamacian vibes while Boomistics remix Jack & Lewis. There's plenty of baseline to keep you going and Sammus is coming at us with a new joint. There is a Kid606 mashup that is just, WOW and a reggaeton reworking of a massive tune in the mainstream right now by Rhianna.

Mark Whitby - May 2016 Ian Thistlethwaite is our session guest this month, in a show that also includes tracks from hotly anticipated recent releases from the likes of Malcolm Middleton, Tacocat, Future of the Left and PJ Harvey. Maybe it's Eurovision or maybe it's the build-up to the EU referendum, but there's a distinctly European flavour to much of the show, with some Greek village music rubbing shoulders with a bunch of tunes forged in the continent's cities, culled from new albums from Barcelona's Chroma and Berlin-based The Field, originally hailing from Stockholm, plus a cracking EP from Istanbul's Reptilians From Andromeda. In a similar spirit, French-born Phoebe Killdeer teams up with Portugal's Maria De Madeiros, while France's Julien Auroux continues his fine run of recent Soundcloud form and Valencia's Ghost Transmission cover an old Suicide tune. There are a couple of other covers too, with Erik Nervous pulling off the apparently impossible with an original take on Bo Diddley, while Mixed Infants cover Prince, offering an unforeseen tribute in the wake of his recent sudden passing. The latter is one of a couple of releases in the show from Australia's excellent Fulsome Prism Recordings. Another fine label - the consistently wonderful Soul Jazz, provide our featured compilation this month, a new edition of the first New York Noise compilation, originally released thirteen years ago.

Rocker - May 2016 A two hour show packed with new music, including a debut session from exedra. There's also new tracks from Personal Best; Towel; Rainbow Reservoir; Hard Left; Beau; The Burning Hell; The Charlie Tipper Conspiracy; Ulrika Spacek; Muncie Girls; Mercury Girls; Martha; Evans The Death; Bent Shapes; and Alternative TV. There's electronica from Stephan Bodzin remixed by Max Cooper; Danny Daze; and Marc Romboy remixed by Agents Of Time. This month's Peel's Big 45 is a pastoral folk song about hitch-hiking, from 1969, the second release on John Peel's Dandelion Record label, and this month's Educating Elizabeth record is an instrumental floor-filler from 1966. As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: An exedra is a semicircular recess or plinth, which may be set into a building's façade, or free-standing. In ancient Greek architecture this created a suitable place for a philosophical conversation.

Sean Hocking - May 2016 We're back and I'll keep it short and sweet. Almost half way through the year already! After the Panama offshore banking debacle I thought I should start the show with couple of oldies that deal with the subject nicely. Then we have some new Australian bands for you The Francis Wolves, Tralala Blip of whom I'm particularly fond and the 'it' band of the moment Summer Flake. From China we've got the latest release from Beijing Band Alpine Decline and something new form Hong Kong's Snoblind as well. Keep an ear out for the new one by Norwich (UK) producer Loom who's my favorite electronic artist at the moment.
