Since 1999 the fourpiece SOAPBOX from the Odenwald ( South-Hesse ) is producing unique Alternative Rock with a mixture of beautiful melodies and noisy bits. Calm, atmospheric parts are erupting in mighty guitar walls. Between hooks and catchy melodies you’ll always find noisy and brutal bits, which leads to very varied and dynamic sound. Especially on stage SOAPBOX already left their mark. Among many headlining shows there are successfull support shows for acts like Mother Tongue, Blackmail, Amplifier, Biffy Clyro, Emil Bulls and British Sea Power. Beside that Soapbox played a show at the german BIZARRE Festival in 2002.
In March 2007 the band will be touring again to promote their new "Lost Gravity"-EP and of course they will complete the recordings for their new full length album which the guys are currently working on in the bands own studio.
After the release of their album "Odenwald Democracy" Soapbox split up.

Henrik Petersen (git)
Sven Schmidt (d)
Timo Kumpf (b)

3) Soapbox (PT)

Soapbox were born inside a room, around January 2009. Their very first song was made from a guitar sketch, a poem and a loop station software. In the weeks that followed that initial kick, a creative formula nurtured and a dozen more songs were written where electronic atmosphere and rock power were combined with synthpop, dance music and the occasional instrospective groove. When the first live acts started to take place, Soapbox won the Super Bock Super Rock Preload 2009 and Best Alternative Band award at Rock Rendez Worten 09. On November 2009 they were invited to record their debut EP - Out Of Shape, at Manchester (Spirit Studios) and Lisbon (Brugo Studios), working with Portuguese producer Nuno AC. After months of preparation and managing double-lives as both musicians and student workers, Soapbox were finally ready to hit the road.
