Digital Suicide

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Digital Suicide is an alternative rock band from Guwahati Assam, India . The band consists of Daniel Langthasa on lead vocals, and guitar, D"pork" Borah on backing vocals and bass guitar, and Ratan Bordoloi on drums and percussion.

They have been friends since their formation in early 2007 and changed band names a number of times (such as Ahimxa, Spice Boys) before adopting the name "Digital Suicide".

Their sound is a blend of alternative rock music, electronica, old school Bollywood music, and progressive rock. Usually they use strong bass and drum groove as the driving force, often with the guitar providing simple atmospheric and ambient textures to the song rather than just carrying the melody, the bass has sometime overdriven sound to achieve a greater weight, allowing the guitar to experiment with mellow, clean tones layered with delays and reverbs. Another peculiarity is Digital Suicide’s flirtation with 70’s disco and 80’s pop melodies. Their music has been inspired by the works of R. D. Barman, Classical Music, Bands like Placebo, Joy Division, R.E.M., Sonic Youth.

The band is known for their energetic live performances. Their lyrical themes involve love, communal hate, regional terrorism, real politic, sex, nature, trees, animals, global warming etc and to see a clearer sky is the Digital Suicide’s concern.
