Artist Info

Black Symbol

Black SymbolData provided by DiscogsBlack Symbol are a roots band from Birmingham, UK. Operating from about 1978 to present day. The band was led by "Fatman" who should not be confused with the any 'other' Fatman for instance the one from Jamaica who ended up as a producer or the one who spent most of his time marshalling the 'Fatman Riddim Section'. 'Black Symbol' also should not be confused with 'The Symbols' who did track like 'Misunderstanding', 'Motherless Children' and 'Black Man's Words'. These guys were a strictly UK based roots band who also operated a small record label of the same name briefly. Rarely seen outside their native city, notheless their limited vinyl output has gained widespread 'legendary' status amongst serious roots collectors. With a very small catalogue of 6 singles (we think) and 2 compilation albums the feature a couple of tracks each, that's all we can find..... (Taken from unofficial Corn-Fed Production compilations notes)
