Lee Adcock - August 2016
This month marks my first whole year in the ATL. I'm still baffled I ever lasted this long. Within a month, my initial dream of working at the CDC - the reason I ever moved from Athens in the first place - was crushed. How would life go on? Would I ever rise from the red couch, eyes dried and mind resolved?

Um. Music, maybe? Yes. "What would you like?" asks MissRed as she mans the decks. "Bridges", answers And Also The Trees from their corner forest. "Bore", groans Crosstalk, who really would rather not be at this stupid party, but alas. In another room, Virgin of the Birds declares, "Ilona, you should still be my vampire attendant". But no one else can see this so-called Ilona, and so Field Mouse sniggers, "Over and out!" "So human", says Rosie Lowe, rolling her eyes.
From the dancefloor, Family Atlantica cries "Cosmic unity!" and Rattle, who wholly agree with this notion but aren't too keen on dancing, shout "Boom!" from a nook some feet away. From the bar, Anxiety guffaw, "Sewer in my mind"; The Fireworks, horrified at this sentiment, gasp "Go so slow!" "In deep," mutters The KVB from a safe distance.
Many other artists await, of course - but we'll let them speak for themselves.

A session mix to delight this month from Derby's very own o_S_k_m. A wonderful featured album from SonnyJim, classic hip hop. There's a brilliant track from Kel Assouf and more from grime artist J Wing. Bazia comes in with some drum and bass that with get you up off your seat and Bassnectar is powering in with some BASS :-)

Mark Whitby - August 2016
As the new football season begins, this August show is slightly truncated due to the effects of a tough pre-season schedule but bolstered by the return of several crucial performers and a sprinkling of exciting new talent. Leading them out are The Bordellos, with their second session for the show, while the sight of Gonjasufi, following a prolonged absence, will be a most welcome one to supporters.
Several of the players, as is common at this time of year, are on a short tour to the Brecon Beacons for the Green Man Festival. In that spirit, we feature highlights from recent performances, including some exquisite touches from Cate Le Bon, a deft back heel from Bill Baird and a thrilling cameo from Malcolm Middleton. Our Peel Back... section features a couple of vintage piledrivers from Belle and Sebastian and The Membranes.
With a stunning debut from Chile's Hikikomori, another exquisite release from the Daddy Tank stable in the form of 6.9 Hz and, continuing their blinding run of form, a match-winning performance from Holy Fuck, there is much on show to please the faithful. Mark does fumble a pronunciation of an Emma Pollock track late the game, which leads to some nervy moments, but thankfully Bloomin' Nora come off the bench to secure a result with an absolute scorcher in stoppage time, securing their position as session guests in the line-up of next month's show.

Pete Jackson - August 2016
Lots of artists new to Pete's show this month alongside new tunes from more established acts. So you can expect to find Gaudi rubbing shoulders with Goat, Phonocaptors elbowing their way past Pixies, Cumquat jockeying for position with DJ Shadow and Hermit Dubz peeking out from behind Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve.
There's also two tracks from the forthcoming debut album by recent find Orange Bomb and a couple of nods to mark the passing of more luminaries, Alan Vega and Scotty Moore, adding to the huge 2016 body count.

Rocker - August 2016
A three hour show this month. Featured album is a cassette compilation from No Dice tapes of Leeds, including tracks by Porridge Radio; Jealous Girlfriend; Dirtygirl and Trust Fund. There's also new tracks from The Blue Orchids; CTMF; The Fireworks; Evans The Death; The Charlie Tipper Conspiracy; Linda Guilala; MJ Hibbett & The Validators; Crywank; Cosines; The Bellamys; T.O.Y.S; The Wolfhounds; PWR BTTM; Beau; and Stephen's Shore.
There's electronica from Baikal; Mario Hammer and the Lonely Robot remixed by Thyladomid and Jonas Mantey; Ryan Davis and Microtrauma; and Hammer & Bicep. Meanwhile Xiu Xiu gives us a disturbing interpretation of music from Twin Peaks; and PJ Harvey samples Jerry McCain - we play the original too.
This month's Peel's Big 45 features a Kinks cover released on Dandelion Records in 1972, while this month's Educating Elizabeth record is a 1962 release from Benny Spellman.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: As we feared, upstate New York band PWR BTTM do indeed pronounce their name 'Power Bottom'.

Sean Hocking - August 2016
Ring of Fire starts off with our usual politician song! This time we just had to mention Boris ... not hard to guess what song we reference!
Lots of new unknowns in this show, artists like Mr Woo, Sam Fuentes, Noer The Boy and Garden Gate.
Return visits with something new from Adelaide's fabulous Wireheads, some kitsch from The Cambodian Space Project and while we are talking about kitsch where would be without a new one from Portland's art lover and rapper I am Moshow - also something new from Death Grips.
That and plenty more.
