The Duloks

The Duloks

Powered by Audioscrobbler™The Duloks were formed in January 2005 when disenfranchised Canadian, Mar Sellars (of CBC fame!) arrived to the British Isles bereft of her alma mater band The Ewoks.

After settling into the environs of East London, Mar acquired a set of Roland V electric drums and yearned to be in a band again. She started a lonely Duloks MySpace site in November 2005 and three months later enlisted Alice her trusty housemate to play keys. The Duloks MySpace now had TWO friends! (Three if you count Tom).

With lumbering inevitability MySpace contrived to play another role in the band's inception when Mar advertised for a "female singer with balls" and lo! Her old Coolgrrrls.com compadre Mira Manga answered. Henceforth the three girls became The Duloks!!!

-

Duloks played their first show in Mar's living room as part of her 25th Nerds & Jocks themed birthday party. The show was shambolic but beautiful and so The Duloks were born

-

The Duloks were speedily booked for other London shows after fun loving promoters saw pics from the party and booked them on the strength of their outfits. (Alice (Nerd) and Mira & Mar (Jocks)) Various Ladyfests around Great Britain clamoured to book the girlie trio and the Duloks rushed to play any venue that would entertain their quirly E.R.I.C. (indie rock comedy electro) stylings.

-

Just before Christmas 2005 Alice Dulok hung up her nerd glasses and left to devote more time to her band Artha & Martha and her monthly indie-disco Spiral Scratch. Mar & Mira Dulok hastily recruited teeniest ever Dulok, Mina by growing her from a crystal and took the band's average height down to 3'7"

-

At each show The Duloks endeavour to dress to impress and bewilder, if not in their regular kit they will appear as a themed unit. Various dress ups to date include The Rolling Stones (Mira - Mick, Mar - Keef, Alice - Marianne Faithful / School children / Mariners (including a mermaid, lifeguard and swimmer!) / Cowboys & Indians / Space Aliens / Rockers...the list is endless!

-

Duloks gig often and have had shows outside of the UK in France, Germany and Norway. The line up is now supplemented by all neu Boy Dulok, Oliver, who steps in when Mina Dulok is unavailable
