The Black Arts

The Black Arts

Powered by Audioscrobbler™THE BLACK ARTS is a musical collaboration between Black Box Recorder (Luke Haines, John Moore and Sarah Nixey) and Art Brut. They released their debut single, 'Christmas Number One', via Fantastic Plastic Records in December 2007.

The black arts are also a five-piece band hailing from brisbane. Their music is full of strummig rythms and happy rock which hasn't gone unnoticed by popular radio stations, particularly Triple J. With a recently released debut EP in the mix, they are now set to take on the world.

"Wicked vocal harmonies and top of your lungs screaming with a Dead Kennedys meets The Beatles attitude. An infectious pop sensibility litters every cancerous track of rock'n'roll destruction. what is the black arts? a concern, a promise, a lie, a joke, a silence, a wreckage, a love, a band, the black arts is our wealth. the black arts like to... gamble, drink, photograph, watch, read, smoke."
