Powered by Audioscrobbler™Furious Pig were a group that formed in the small town of Totnes in South Devon, England. Influences include: Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, The Beatles, Ethiopian Polyphonic chants, The Doors, Stravinsky and Edgar Varese etc. In 1979 they moved to London a year after reaching the final of the National 'Melody Maker' Rock/Folk Contest. There they developed their own unqiue sound and gained a cult following in London and the Northern European club scenes. Information becomes somewhat shady at this point, but evdiently the group split up. One member now lives in Australia and works with Circus OZ. Martin Kent aka Martin Pig recorded a series of singles on Rough Trade and Dominic Weeks and Cass Davies with two full length LP's on Recommended Records: Het - 'Lets Het' and another with french chanteuse Hermine.
