Powered by Audioscrobbler™A truly extraordinary debut fireworks of hard to pidgeon hole liberated pop music, featuring El Perro Del Mar.

Ever since their debut appearance on the Festival Rydal in 2004 we have been waiting long and patiently for the FONTÄN debut fireworks. Now the wait is over, and the warm August summer night finds Swedes Jesper Jarold and Johan Melin firing off their extraordinary longplayer unto the world. Featuring the vocals of one of Sweden's strongest new generation singer songwriters, El Perro Del Mar. Their music is hard to pidgeon hole. As if they don't acknowledge any archetypes or rules at all. It's liberated pop music. Free-wheelers of the frustrated desillusioned longing soul skies.

Letter from the label curators and producers of Fontän "Aktionskammarn":

"We have known Johan Melin for some time now. Having played together in different constellations during the Nineties not only did we know that he was a very special person with the biggest of hearts, we knew he was a sequencer acrobat and a true breakbeat wiz-kid. But we did not really know what he was capable of until he hooked up with…

…Jesper Jarold, of whom we at first knew very little except that he had been involved with some of the finest bands in Gothenburg throughout the years. Yet it did not take long to realize the creative master-mind of his. Jesper is a brilliantly innovative guitarist as well as a fantastic multi-instrumentalist and composer.

Together they now form Fontän and from the moment we first heard their work we were literally stunned. Believe us when we say: we still are.

It is therefore with immense honour that we are able to present you with their album "Aktionskammarn" – a sparking fountain of an album which blends Johan’s 16-bits-mind and Jesper’s golden analogues into a perfectly indescribable universe of melody and rhythm. The music of Fontän is regardless of time and space, regardless of boundaries and conceptions and regardless of rules and regulations. Just as great music should be – impossible to categorise.

"Aktionskammarn" is a playful and fickle journey through dark techno and maniacal melodic pop, via melancholic folk music and disturbingly euphoric dub, down to deep choral psychedelia, jazzy hip hop and back again. Words like eclectic and unique may have completely lost their meaning by now but there simply is no other way to go about describing this ever so beautiful album."
