Artist Info

Das freie Orchester

Das freie OrchesterData provided by DiscogsEast Berlin avant-garde band from 1984 until 1992.
Original members of the band were Bärbel Willner, Jörg Thomasius, Dieter Zobel, Gui Gust and Carsten Spindler. By 1990 Thomasius and Willner had left the band and Jörg Dittmar (aka Lord Litter) came to join DFO up until '92 when the band finally broke up. Their music style was a mixture of electronic - experimental - krautrock à la Can, Cluster and Tangerine Dream. They also had numerous sessions, projects and collaborations with artists from West Germany like Harald Grosskopf, Lutz Ulbrich of Ashra and former Tangerine Dream and Kluster member Conrad Schnitzler.

They released most of their stuff, on their own Kröten Kassetten.
