Anata Wa Sukkari Tsukarete Shimai - “The Lost Charles Underscore” (BS023)
It's hard to find words for something as elusively brilliant as this. The band's album has been put out by the very fine Bearsuit Records and for me it's their best release yet.
Unwashed Territories (Mark Whitby)
A wonderfully addictive LP! Off-rail beauty and lovely glitched soundscapes - electronic music at a searingly creative level. If you add this LP to your record collection I’ll buy you a pint and marry your sister.
In-Tune - Bcfm (Phil Vickery)
An imaginative album of electronic glitches, sparse melodies and an acid trip of sonic themes. This is an album of strong originality, which spans lo-fi garage to retro psych.
Floorshime Zipper Boots
’Doll’ with all the strangest and out there-ness that you’ve come to love, adore and indeed worry about from these weird sound imps. Four and a half minutes of deeply unsettling aural disquiet, a superbly crafted smoke and mirrors melodic mirage …
Tales From The Attic
I can’t understand why you wouldn’t want to buy that! [“The Lost Charles Underscore”]
On The Wire (BBC Radio Lancashire)
The two crazy artists truly excel in psychedelic noise garage trash pop. Everyone tired of the same old crap will most surely find a lot to savour on this grand collaborative record.
DisAgreement (Pascal Thiel)
Psychedelic and analog/electronic sounds, nightmares and noises from unquiet children.. A distorted rock-vein that reminds me of the positive madness that lived during the 90's: like a modern 'acid' Trance Syndacate (or Skin Graft..)
Sudden Art (Nicola Novelli)
Repeat listens will reveal a sonic intelligence at work (and play) here that would work wonderfully in a cinematic setting. These guys need to get involved in film music to share their concoctions with a greater audience. Rob Zombie, Danny Boyle, Quentin Tarrentino, Tim Burton… have I got a band for you to compose your next soundtrack!
Psychedelic Baby (Jeff Penczak)
Twelve moments of strangeness sit with the goofy grooves of ‘the lost charles underscore’. The frankly wired and scuzzed out ‘drink it up’ belches along a grizzled dust racked highway once frequented by a youthful Tom Waits channelling the spirit of Beefheart… Goes without saying you need this in your listening life.
The Sunday Experience (Mark Barton)
