Alex Blood & The Diggers

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Rap music, big guitar riffs, skanks, muddy boots, dogs off the lead, life in The Midlands, trying to beat the system; can you dig it? The Diggers are a genre mashing band with a plot under their belt, and not just one for growing veg in.

With their unique blend of punk, rock, rap and reggae, The Diggers have forged a unique sound with an energetic and entertaining live show to boot which is already causing a stir.

2011 saw the Diggers play festivals such as Headstock, Y Not and Bus Stop Over, as well as shows at leading venues including Rock City, The Roundhouse, The Queen of Hoxton, Cargo, The Rescue Rooms and Night n Day. Recent gigs include support slots for acts such as Devlin, Asian Dub Foundation, The Lightening Seeds, 2tone legends The Beat, Dreadzone and Jerry Dammers of The Specials.

Formed by lyricist Alex Blood, whose solo career includes collaborations with international artists Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse, the Diggers are currently building on 2011’s success with their first independent album, due for release summer 2012. Having already gained support from BBC Introducing, the new release looks set to launch the band out of the underground and onto the radar of the mainstream.

Alex Blood & The Diggers are gaining national exposure, rave reviews and an allegiance of fans. The uprising is growing stronger, question is though; can you dig it?
