Actual Crimes

Powered by Audioscrobbler™Formed in 2013, Actual Crimes were made up of Kirsty Fife, Aaron Batley and Ruth Mair (with Lenny Dutton-Williams playing bass until July 2015). 2014 and 2015 saw the band support a host of national and international DIY punk dream babes including Perfect Pussy, SHOPPING, Trust Fund, Witching Waves, Good Throb, Street Eaters, Chain and the Gang, The Ethical Debating Society, Basic Bitches, Wolf Girl and Party Traitor.

We had a policy of playing mostly benefit shows in London and helped raised money for DIY Space for London, Abortion Support Network, Sex Worker's Open University plus others.

We released a demo in 2014 and in 2015 an 8 track album, "Cassette!". Both can be downloaded here: (http://actualcrimes.bandcamp.com) where they are available for free or pay what you want. The next release, "5 Songs" was released 19th October 2015. Both Cassette! and 5 Songs were recorded with Mr Mark Jasper at Sound Savers (http://soundsavers.wordpress.com/).

In 2016, we recorded our final album, Ceramic Cat Traces, engineered again by Mark Jasper and released on cassette by For The Sake of Tapes (https://forthesakeoftapes.bandcamp.com). The band disbanded shortly afterwards as Kirsty moved to Leeds and Aaron moved to Brooklyn, New York.

Kirsty currently plays in Cat Apostrophe (https://catapostrophe.bandcamp.com/). Ruth and Aaron are working on new projects. Watch this space!
